Downtown Summerlin

Serving as a gateway to Downtown Summerlin at the corner of Town Center Drive and Sahara Avenue, this retail destination is anchored by a major market and supported by a mix of food and retail tenants. Our landscape design reinforces the site’s identity while complementing the modern desert aesthetic of the architecture.

At the heart of the plaza, Sun Kissed—a striking 33-foot-tall sculpture by artist Robert Spencer Davidson—creates a memorable focal point and anchors the plaza’s artfully designed seating area. Carefully selected planting weaves the project together, softening the built environment and enhancing the pedestrian experience.

The landscape fits seamlessly into Summerlin’s desert vernacular, using water-wise strategies and regionally appropriate materials. Medjool date palms provide structure and shade, while sculptural succulents and native plantings emerge from a refined bed of granite cobble, adding texture, color, and drama throughout the site.

Though modest in scale, this project makes a bold visual impact and contributes to the larger Downtown Summerlin master plan through thoughtful integration of art, planting, and place.
